Form | Wire
As a metalsmith, I have great empathy for the nuances and intrinsic characteristics that are inherent in metal. Wire embodies the most physical characteristics of metal such as tensile strength, ductility, malleability, shimmer, shine and reflection. Wire also represents one of the most basic visual elements: the line. Line creates movement through direction, space, volume, shadows, and textures in this jewellery. Controlled, but intuitively manipulated, thousands of lines create textures, and the harmonious existence of space and volume in my works.
My sensibility toward a certain aesthetic of fragility, lightness, and grace is realized in brooches made of fine wire.
